It was created by Sebastian Beaumont, pianist and composer of videogame and movie soundtracks.Yume’s setting is an imaginary country between France and Japan. In reality, Yume’s hometown is in the North of France. Also in reality, Yume’s first gig was performed in Tokyo, Japan on Christmas Eve 2006. At its debut, Yume was truly a French and Japanese electro-pop music project.Following several gigs in and around Lille during 2007, Yume toured the UK performing live at lounges in front of audiences looking for a soft touch from their music. Yume lyrics are in the Shakespearian language and include sprinkles of French and Japanese. Yume’s aspirations are to continue performing abroad and meeting Earth’s people…2008 proved to be a year of everlasting friendship for Yume. While performing a second tour in Japan during the fall of 2008, Sebastian met Ayuri, a Japanese female singer and pianist. Ayuri joined the project as lead vocalist and Japanese lyrics writer. She continues to be a part of Yume and beautifies several Yume tracks, such as “Escape”, with the sweetness of her voice.Returning to France, 2009 was a time of evolution. The universe of Yume expanded. Mythology, characters, and symbols, appeared. In reality, a baby girl called Yume was born. Yume received a new logo, a single wing, the symbol of adulthood in Yume’s universe (See mythology below).
